Bulb or unit?

Sorry silly question. It's just it's dark outside and can't see...
I run my p6 everyday 8:30 -7pm and have noticed my dip beam outer light has stopped working. Can I replace the bulb or the unit? Handbook tells me one thing while the Manuel tells me different.. And if it is just the bulb any idea what type and and if halfords or "halfrauds" sell them

Cheers

Hi, it depends whether you have a light unit or a sealed beam fitted. If you can't
see because it is dark, I cant see because I am too far away. Seriously it
should be a sealed beam but if a previous owner has fitted a light unit then it will
be a bulb. The only way will be to look in the daylight i'm afraid and yes halfords
will sell them plus fit them if you plead ignorance. Colin

If your headlights are original, then they are sealed beam and the whole unit needs to be replaced. However, it is a popular and common upgrade to fit halogen headlights to older vehicles so it is possible that yours could have been changed. If that is the case then you can replace the bulb, usually an H4 but it could be anything really. I think you are just going to have to take it out and see for yourself. All types should be readily available.

It's a time function. And after many years on this earth, even we humans develop play/no play characteristics.

IMHO you need to pull the unit and clean up the connections at least. :)
