'distance piece' 90572615 for 'D' suffix P6 3500 diff

Finally got my 'D' suffix P6 3500 project car up on a proper high lift to get on with re-assembling the drivetrain and fuel supply. I was about to bolt the propshaft back in place when I realised I'm missing the 'distance piece' 90572615 for the differential extension housing... Here's a pic from the parts catalogue, I've coloured the piece I need red; it would be really helpful if someone here could tell me the size/length of the missing piece so that I can make one up from a suitable piece of metal or length of pipe! I don't really want to just guess, I imagine drivetrain alignment is probably pretty critical. Hoping somebody with a broken or dismantled P6 V8 can help me out...

Hi Mr Task

The spacer I have on this bolt looks more like the RTC611 washer, but they are apparently only 1/16" thick. I was worried that I had lost it as well

The spacer on mine is 3.85mm thick, 18.5mm in diameter, with a hole of 11.3mm. I am still not sure that this is the spacer you are looking for however.

Thanks very much indeed for the speedy reply Richard. I'm guessing you still have your diff out of your car, and didn't have to crawl underneath it and dismantle anything to get those measurements?
They certainly sound about right. Why the uncertainty on your part as to whether you measured the right piece or not? Is it a case of having unbolted stuff, it all then getting mixed up and moved about before you get around to getting it put back together? That's how I've managed to mislay not 1 but 2 of these distance pieces!

I just found the bolt, which was put back into the diff extension along with washers and everything else when I took it apart, and found the bit you were after. I was uncertain because it looks a lot bigger on the picture than it is in real life. Taking into account that Sparky is now 35 years old, it may have been taken apart in the past and I might have the wrong bit. So I was just being cautious :)
