Early LPG gas conversion V8

My kit was proper adaptors to the carb intakes with a mixer on the inner wing with a solenoid swiching the petrol or gas on.
Never took any pics before removing it from the last car I had it on. It's in boxes at the min :)

LPG conversions were very popular in Australia, and sometimes they were dual fuel, for people using their cars as everyday drivers. LPG is much less expensive due to taxation in Australia. I do not know if LPG was ever available as a dealer option, however if it was not then if those cars are on historic registration then the LPG conversion must be removed to qualify.

What about this ? I'd love to see a photo of the gas installation at the engine end

Probably like this: Carb spacers fitted under the SU's with the gas splitter

LPG set with regulator, etc, Ebay seller is: PartsRange+ this is a Dual Fuel setup, you can go dedicated LPG and not bother with gasoline

Morning All,

I fitted an LPG kit to my P5B - different under the bonnet with a bit more room, but you get the idea.

Its' a relatively easy kit to install and setup as long as you're mechanically minded and methodical. The engine runs better on LPG than on petrol, slightly down on power (LPG has a lower calorific value than petrol = less "bang!") but 60p a litre makes up for it...
