earth points - dimm headlights etc

Hello,
has a Rover P6 dedicated earthing points? Are there particular places
one could check that all bits of the loom that need to are properly
grounded?

I had "dimm head light Syndrome" on one side. Led an extra cable from
the ground terminal of the plug to the rim of the headlamp and the light is
as bright as it should be again.

Now I would like to know, where the problem originates.
Also, the ignition light stays on for a while after switching off the ignition.
Wise men say, the alternator is on the blinck, others diagnose
"no charge arriving at battery" and one car electrician suspects the mix
of the old switching gear with an alternator.

More fun for 2007!

There are two I am aware of:

1. At the back to earth the battery.
2. In the engine bay to earth the engine. I'm not sure of the exact location but I think it's on the nearside towards the bulkhead.

On my 3500S there's an earth point by the relay near the
brake master cylinder. I'd imagine the headlamps earth somewhere near the front of the car. Fitting another earth wire won't do any harm

Sorted!

Thanks to the nice guys from the Bosch service centre near B&Q in
Exeter! Hats off!

The conversion from dynamo to alternator indeed was not done properly.
Bosch shorted one switch in the old regulator, provided a new lead to
the warning light and did something else inside the alternator.

Anyway, I have full charge current at the battery and the warning light
operates as it should.

Highly commended!
