It is dead simple to set up, make sure you have the correct coil though. Also it needs a Non ballasted 12v supply so you'll need to wire something up.

Driving has been very smooth and no complaints. I have only had one problem and that was operator error. My car was misfiring and eventually died. I took off the dizzy cap and found the module was loose. It is fixed to the plat be 2 small nuts and spring washer which I hadn't tightened up enough. I will put some thread lock on just to be safe.

yea is yrs a v8 or 2.0/2.2 so i will have to bypass the ballasted will have to look into that dont know wot 2 go gor that or the lumenition

It's worth comparing the prices here:

(Aldon and Pertronix are the same) When I bought mine for the 2000TC, exchange rate was favourable so cost was about half. No worries about customs/duty as they send from their UK warehouse.

Re: non-ballasted 12v supply - I connected mine to the wiper circuit as it's not far from the distributor and switched on via the ignition.

Hello Gareth,

Which ever electronic ignition system you decide on, the points and condensor are removed from the distributor, and the new parts fitted in their place.

I have only used the Lumenition system which I installed in 1991, and it has proven to be totally reliable.
