Engine identification - When was it made?

I just bought a spare engine (V8) for my 1973 Rover P6. On the side is what appears to be an identificationcode. It reads: 34115831F. Can I from the code tell what year the engine was produced? Is there anything else the code tells me?
I live in Sweden, so the engine probably comes from an exported vehicle.
Thankful for any advice on this

From that number it should be,

3.5 litre, 8.25:1 cr, export to Germany Norway and Sweden, fitted with Stromberg carbs and air rails, and manufactured between Feb 1971 and Oct 1977.

Hm, Strombergs... Mine´s got SU´s, so someone has probably changed them at some point. This is maybe a stupid question, but what is "air rails"

By the way, thanks to HarveyP6 for a very quick reply.

Air rails are for emission control and they run along and are threaded into the head.

I can't take credit for that info, if you check Philippe Hollands "free beer" thread he posted a link to Rimmers website, all the info you could want (and plenty more) is on there.
Check out the "Engine numbers" section

What's the CR of your engine please? I am trying to find the history of my engine 34129239F which is marked as 8.13:1....and thus does not exist on any Range Rover list...
