fiiting an auxilary electric fan

I am sure the question has been asked many times before, are there any spare cables that can be located so as to connect into without cutting cables.

On my S2 2000, I ran a wire to the fuse box. There weren't any spare connectors on the output side, so I used a spare connector on the input side that only operated when the ignition was in the 1st position, and then fitted an in-line fuse.

Brian.

I think you should wire a relay into the circuit or you will have the familiar problem of overheating fuseboxes

Thanks for the advice I was intending to fit a relay to overcome any possible problems also inline fuses on all connections
( better safe than sorry)

I've just fitted electric fans to my series II and the kit came with relay's and in line fuse so I carried the red battery supply cable (which supplies to the relays) in through the bulkhead (drivers side) and down to the footwell (drivers side) where the cable comes from the battery and has an isolated (from the body) terminal and took my + supply from there and the same route with the (blue) ignition supply cable (which supplies current to the thermal cut in switch) and took this one up to near the ignition switch and tapped into the brown/purple cable (which is ignition activated) and fans run beautifully, Regards,

thanks again Scott for the further info ( my wife and I have 2 p6, 3.5 auto & 2000 auto )
