Fluid loss

My 3500s is losing Brake fluid,I first thought it was the Clutch slave cylinder so replaced it as there were signs of brake fluid
around it,but I am still losing fluid not quite as much as before
I have checked all the calipers and pipes but no obvious sings of leaks. It was suggested to me that it could be going into the servo I have taken the vacuum hose off but it is dry and no evidence of fluid being sucked into manifold is there a positive way of testing to see if this is the case??????? ??? The prevous owner had the same problem looking at some of the bills for recent replacement of master cylinders Brake/Clutch and sevo hydraulic seals :(

The rear calipers can leak internally and fill up the cover with fluid - but is does not leak outside until the cover is full - quite a lot - hope its not that as horrible job!

Check the rubber pipe that goes the resevoir to the master cylinder.

I have experienced this problem with brake fluid, cured by replacingthis pipe.

If it looks like it has been sweating fluid it will be shot.

You could take the vacuum hose out of the servo and put something soft like a piece of washer tubing into the hole, Make sure it goes down to the bottom before pulling it out.
If it's wet , you have a leak into the servo
Have a look under the dash to see if either master cylinder is leaking from the pushrod end
I was losing fluid and found it was the clutch master cylinder
Easier than doing the rear brakes !!

If you do this & it is wet, make sure it's brake fluid & not just the rubber lubricant for the diaphram. I've made this mistake before & incurred uneccesary expense.
However, I've just changed the servo on our V8 & the vacuum chamber on the old one was FULL of fluid. There was no mistake this time. We'd been losing fluid for a while.

That is where it is going I put a piece of wire down the vacuum pipe hole and brake fluid was on the end.
So a new servo is on the cards however a 4 cylinder P6 is being broken which has what looks like a almost new looking
servo on it now can anyone tell me if the sevos are the same? I have the single circuit Girling system the servos look identical to me?

Thanks all
