fuel pump issues

We have 2 mechanical fuel pumps for the rover and they are both not pumping fuel up so want to switch to the facet electronic fuel pump. just wondering where the best place to mount the pump is, and the best place to take the power feed from. Also is it better to leave the mechanic pump still attached and use it with the electric pump, or get a blanking plate for where the mechanical pump goes and just use the electronic one?

Hello Lewis,

Kits are available for the mechanical pumps, so you can rebuild them if you wish to. The Facet electronic pump that I use is mounted beneath the car on the boot wall adjacent to the fuel tank outlets. I run it in series with the mechanical pump which provides fuel delivery for essentially 100% of the time. The Facet is switched on only when needed, which these days is rarely indeed.
