Heated screen

Could someone tell me should i have live on both sides of my screen or does the voltage drop as it goes across.

Live is on the offside, earth is on the nearside.

One for the electricians for the correct answer however, the filament acts as a resistor, this gives off the heat so on the negative side of the screen I wouldn't expect enough power to illuminate a bulb but I would expect some current whether this would measure 12v or less I'm not sure.
