How must "rust/blemishes" on pistons is acceptable

Hi gents.
I have just received some calipers ($50), that seem in OK nick. There is some rust/blemishes on the pistons.
At what point does this become a problem?
I have attached some pics for perusal, and what much appreciate member views on weather they are serviceable, or need to be reconditioned.
I am going to put a reseal kit through them, but dont want to get much more expensive than that.

Hi,
these pistons are not hydraulic, they don't have to seal against anything, so you will just clean them up and you will be fine.
You need to dismantle the calipers to reach the hydraulic pistons. It is their condition, and the bores' that are running in that are critical.

Second what Demetris said. Just clean them up and they will be fine. Provided the cylinders inside the body of the caliper, which you will see once you remove the domed metal cans on top, are free of any pitting then they will be a goer. The bores should have been resleeved in stainless steel by now, if not it will be an expensive exercise to have done, but once done and rebuilt they will last for well over a decade and beyond.

Righhht!! Now I am understanding!
I havent had them apart as yet, but I am almost certain they have not been resleeved.
Having said that, they appear to be in far superior condition to the ones that are on the car currently.
I will have a little look...and keep my fingers crossed.
