Would anybody happen to have a wiring diagram for the Icelert system. I have recently purchased one, but it is missing some wiring and I need to know how to fit. Many thanks in advance.
Wiring is as follows
Green Ign. live
Black Earth
Blue/Yellow go to same at sensor
Red/Green (I think) go to same at sensor or is it Red/Yellow I should know I've just done mine
I think it's probably worth running a length of 4 core down to the sensor & jumping the live & earth from the same connections you use for the switch/rheostat end. In fact I think that's how Rover did it
I made up a self-contained unit for a P6ROC friend in the UK as a Christmas present. I can supply pictures and instructions if necessary.
These will all appear on the ice alert web page soon(ish).
The unit I made up was self-contained with sensor, wiring loom, and control head. I tested it out of the car with a battery source spraying ether from starting fluid on the sensor to get the orange light to flicker. He has a Three thousand five Rover and my bits are spares from my 2000 TC. It is critical to take time and get the correct wires connected before connecting the *green* power wire. Otherwise, the sensor transistor gets blown in a nano-second.
His problem was to remove a trim bit on his dash and drill holes for the light, rheostat, and push-button test.
