I have a diff of a 2200 N reg and a K reg V8 and had got them mixed up.
My factory manual for the 2000/2200 has a list of serial numbers for all the 2000/2200 models and let me know the 2000 sc auto I have should start with 4004....
the 2200 should start with 471... (no distinction for auto's etc)
which means the diff with the 8 digit (+ letter) starting 45... must be the V8 one.
The serial number is stamped not cast into the bottom on the diff casing- jack up the car and lie on your back underneath the car and after hard wire brushing if needed you will find the serial number
