Ignition warning light flickers

Hello everyone. I've recently fitted an electronic ignition kit to my 3500 and took it for a test drive today :D . Worryingly, the ignition light is flickering  . It stops briefly when the car is idling but as soon as it takes up drive the flickering starts again! The kit i've fitted is similar to the pertronix/aldon one that fits inside the distributor cap. I'm also running a lucas sports coil with the ballast resistor bypassed by running a new cable from the Tacho'. Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem when changing to electronic ignition? or is it just me?? :(

Thanks, Will

The igniton warning light doesn't really have anything to do with the ignition system, iIt tells you if your battery is charging.

Therefore I would assume that it wasn't anything to do with the fitting of the eletronic system.

Check that you haven't pulled the wire out of the back of the alternator

Thanks Quattro, it's sorted now :D . I've got so little confidence in my abilities with the Rover that I just assumed i'd done something wrong when I fitted the electronic kit! There were no loose/dislodged wires on the alternator but the connectors had a hefty coating of muck and oxidisation on them. So after a good clean and a spin 'round the block to check, everything's working spot on! Thanks again!
