My friend has a Rover P6 3500 V8 automatic for sale, its a K-reg so tax exempt. It has a webasto roof with the (apparently very rare) pop-up wind deflector, it has tinted glass in good condition all round (apparently worth £150 on ebay), it has spare good condition bonnet and bootlid, as well as (he thinks 4) wings. Interior appears in good condition. It may have some more spares as well with it. The car is intact, with all parts appearing present.
The story behind the car is this; 13 years ago it had £2000 spent in parts to make it a wedding car for his friends (it is white under the mildew). That is new balljoints, track rod ends, disc pads, some welding, calipers on the rear, allsorts. It then gets its MOT. Problems then develop with the rear calipers (as they apparently do with these inboard type) so he sorts it out a second time. Very soon later again, the handbrake fails AGAIN. It is then laid up on his driveway and Sorned. Where it still is, with a Tax disc that expired in 1998. The white paintwork has turned to green, one overrider on the rear bumper has gone and the other is rusted out, and at some point someone hit one wing and dented it badly (hence the new panels). Underneath has not fared so well, it is sadly rotted out in all the major structural components of the car.
I currently have no photos of the car, for good reason. I do not wish to mislead anyone with this advert, the car is in as bad a shape as it could be. Assume a TOTAL reshell really to get it back on the road, but effectively it is a goldmine of parts. On top, the car looks in not too bad shape. Underneath is as bad as it gets! As a reminder, if you do decide to restore the car, the Logbook is present with the vehicle.
My friend now would like his driveway back as this is quite a large vehicle!
For a quick sale, the asking price for the whole lot (with the spares!!) is £300.
