Loan of a front lower ball joint removal tool

Hi Gents

Whilst replacing the front brake calipers I found a worn lower ball joint which will need replacing asap. I have spares but I don't have a tool to remove the ball joint. Having read all the threads on the subject it seems a bit of a job without the proper tool and I don't have the kind of workshop facilities that would make the A-Team envious  to manufacture one. Would any of you kind gents who have one mind letting me borrow it for my daily driver. Or alternatively would any of our known suppliers be prepared to make one for me. I'm happy to pay for all postage and will return it once finished.

Thanks

Dave

onme just went on ebay for 47 quid, if someone can put pic on here and how it works we can try and make our own, i did it with the volvo amazon rear hub puller , the thing i made looked like an abortion of a thing but works all the same, rich

I had the Rover tool, but never managed to remove a joint with it! It pulls on the the ball pin but because the reason you are changing the joint is because its worn it just pulls the ball out of the joint! Having said that once the ball is out of the way I then ran a bead of weld round the inside of the joint and then they usually pull out by hand.

Nope that's the top ball joint and that tool only splits the ball joint from the top link. I need to get the bottom ball joint out of the strut.

 sorry I was not concentrating must be the strong ale

That's not the proper ball joint splitter either, just a commercial version of the standard scissor type, which will work if the joint isn't too stubborn, but isn't as good as the proper Churchill item.
