Looking for some bits'n'pieces from a NADA V8

I'd like to get hold of a black padded (leather or vinyl?) trim for the top of the tunnel between the ashtrays.
Ditto a set of four electric window motors and the switch gear and panel for the centre console, ideally the rare blank one from a car that didn't have air conditioning.

USA, North Carolina: this yard is parting out at least 2 x V8 NADAs; be aware ( from an earlier discussion here about Sundym glass ) that the door frame supports + glass in the NADAs are a different size to UK cars glass/support frame, which will likely make the conversion a "drama"

http://www.timeanddate.com will give you their local time if you search "Madison" as a city I'm gonna call them up for some NADA Hoodscoops...

require a pair of good front sidelight/indicator units, preferably without corrosion damage to the bulb holder or the chrome trim.

Front side/indicator lenses are nearly always on Ebay UK used; if you want 'em New:

appears to be the last NOS source, tho' these do turn up in the USA sometimes ( with different lenses )

:D Thanks for the tip, I've sent them an email, hope to hear back from them. How is the installation of your torque-monster powerplant going?
What's the issue with the electric window motors and UK window mechanisms? I have a UK set of Sundym with manual winders that I'd love to add motors too. Assuming I can get hold of a switch panel for the centre console and some door switches, is the concensus that it is easier to fit a generic motor set-up than adapt the US-export Rover set-up?

Mr. Task: the NADA Sundym glass difference discussed by Chris York + Al ( KiwiRover ) at the thread below

http://www.classicroverforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8885&start=0&hilit=sundym

Chris suggests the power window mechanisms are extremely heavy + "I would not go down this route again"

Maybe just using the Rover NADA switches and a power window mechanism out of another vehicle on your existing glass would be the way ahead ( ?? )

Another weeks delay on the torque monster front; no worries, I will certainly post more info. when it happens

Good luck with your project!

hi,
the windows are slightly heavier as they are stiffened up with extra metal to support the electric motors taking the windows up and down, the runners at the bottom of the glass are different, the cross brace that makes the window go up and down is different as is the plastic wheels are larger at the end of the cross brace. the easiest thing is to use the NADA complete set up, has it's own loom as well or retro fit something else.

I've been able to delete a few things off my wanted list, having found one new-old-stock front sidelight unit amongst my boxes of bits'n'pieces, and sorted out a second one for a nice price. I'm delighted to have found a nice set of wheels too. I'm still looking for a black padded transmission tunnel cover from a US car, and the power window switch panel and blanking panel for the centre console.
I would also love to get hold of a working headlamp wash/wipe set-up, which were sold on Scandinavian export models.
