That sure is a beauty mate. Last time i even saw one on the tv was years ago, unfortunately it was in a scrapyard. I haven't seen one in the tin for a dogs age!

I did have 2! Circumstances were such that one had to go - The one on the trailer very recently went on to a new home in Holland. However she went to an owner who has the skills to bring her back to life. As for the 3500S - Well I have long term plans (whether they will be fulfilled?) to maybe convert to LPG - However the main task is keeping her road legal and the tin worm at bay!

She can be seen on the move on youtube by the way - just search "rover p6 estate"

Very nice indeed. 8)

I have never seen an estate on Australian roads. Are there many in Belgium?

I would imagine that they would be great for carrying a bicycle in the back. As a cyclist, I could certainly do with one!

Ron.

That is very nice ! The right colour for an "S" too 8) (says he with one the same colour)

I wonder does Rudiger Wicke have statistics on the Estates, how many produced and how many remain either on the road or "work in progress"?

I have only ever seen 1 on the roads in the UK and that was a few years ago.

Just noticed in zebedee37`s excellent photos, neither car has over-riders on the bumpers. Were these ommitted on estates or export models ?

Just passed the Belgian MOT today "Controle Technique" It's a lot tougher than the UK one (from bad experiences - treat any car with a UK MOT with a pinch of salt)

Flew through pollution test and only the usual observation about "corrosion" - which here is mentioned even for the slightest trace of surface rust - ie the front valance has a few rust spots.

So I'm fine for another year!

(though Only driven 420 kms since the last test!)

My estate had overriders, they didn't foul on the tailgate. You can just see one in this pic.

'Twas only a guess, so I'll take your word for it, even though the pic cleverly avoids showing the overriders very clearly! (And looking at what I can see, could they be upside down? It looks like there is more under the bumper than over it.)

Estates

On my database currently 106 are listed:

- 63 - on road or work "in progress"
- 36 - whereabouts unknown
- 7 - scrapped

Number of built Estates unknown - approx. 160 in total

Rudiger

I've got one - I know of one 2000 S1 estate, now with a 2200 engine in it hiding in a garage in the midlands for over a decade and another s2 3500 that's up in Yorkshire - guy wants about £1200 for it, but it does need some welding around the engine bay

Just wait until mine is on the road - ever seen a NADA Estate? Had a few parts left over, and think it's gonna look great when done!

I have a really good picture of my estate in Austria - 3000kms in a weekend - with no trouble

And I cant remember how to post a picture! help!

Blimey they're like buses.......

Wait for ages and all of a sudden loads of them turn up at the same time :D

Very nice though

I don't know Fenton....

When you post a reply there is a list of options at the bottom, there is a tab at the top of this list "Upload Attachment", click that, you then click the "Browse" button and find the picture on your computer, then click the "Open" button, then click the "Add the File" button, and your pic will be uploaded.
It then appears in a list under your message and you click the "Insert Inline" button (or something like that, I can't see it from here !).

Should jog you're memory at least.

Hope you don't mind, I've resized it a little to make it visible without scrolling.
