happy days

As its only a few days to go now just a reminder to all forum members that an informal meeting place to put a face to the name is the Rover P6 Club stand each day at 12:30. Will be good to meet new and old again. Cheers Mick

I'm certainly hoping to be there on the Saturday with a couple of friends, so I'll to pop along for a nose around!

The Rover P6 Club Stand is in Hall 7 stand number C63 - so quite close to all the other Rover Clubs. I shall be there over all three days and Michael will be selling the regalia advertised in the Club magazine at discounted prices - you could call it cash and carry!

Pop in for a sit down and a chat, we'd love to see you.

Chris

I hope to be there on Sunday. I say hope as I'm ment to be moving this Thursday if things go to plan which hasn't happened so far..

You must have a very understanding partner to let you go away for a day three days after moving house. I'm going on Sunday too, hoping to take the Rover, it'll be the first good run it's had since Petworth as it's been off the road while the driver's seat was being re-trimmed.

Yes, we here from the northeast, the three of us are down with Barry's Davis white 3500s, hope to see you all here over the weekend

I can't make it this year folks so if you're going enjoy the show and post lots of pics :)

Brian, you need to revise your signature :D

We are just back from the NEC, first time Mrs Happy Days and myself have not done the 4 days before so are absolutely knackered. Must say we enjoyed every minute of it. 7 cars on the stand and a good lot of laughs throughout the 4 days, met loads of interesting people and quite a few new members , really well done to the team. Also big thanks to Mark and Angie for putting us up for the 3 nights. We have taken a few pics, sorry they will go on tomorrow as I'm off to bed.

Great to see everybody yesterday.

Could do with a Lunar Grey car on at least one of the stands though 8)

I had an excellent weekend away, spending Saturday in its entirety at the NEC. It was terrific to meet some well-known names from the forum, and the cars were absolutely superb. The standard of P6s was excellent, and it was interesting to draw comparisons between the V8s and the 2000. I was surprised that there were no 2000s though. Being given the chance to sit in the Panelcraft P5 was one of the highlights of the day. I drove there and back, picking a friend up from Stranraer too, so in all, I travelled 850 miles over the course of the weekend, and had an excellent time!
I took a huge number of photos and the vast majority are in the flickr album here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fk1991/set ... 045851795/
Here are some Rover highlights: (I should add, if anybody would like high-resolution copies of anything, just let me know)

I must apologise for the white balance not being quite right, but the lighting in parts of the NEC was pretty awkward to say the least!

I was there on the Sunday. I was on the Matra stand nearby, you can just see it behind the side-on pic of the 3-litre, it was easy to wander over and have a look round and join the club. The Rover performed well on the trip, although it's till suffering from some of the effects of its six-year lay up. I need to put some more miles on it.

Hi Dave

The Arden Green NADA is a RP6C member and supporter. He doesn't do the internet or email at all, so it's unfair to name hime in public. Amidst a fascinating and remarkable life story, he spent time working for Hoopers, the Rolls Royce coachbuilders, and retains contacts in those sort of circles. But above all, both he and his wife are Rover-Nuts. Hers is one family owned from new, his might have been, but he accidently sold it some years ago when they needed cash for something else and the NADA is his consolation prize. The interior is fully retrimmed in the nighest quality leather. And I do mean fully. The door cards, door pulls, dash top shroud, anything that could be leather is leather. Then there is the champagne bar in the rear seat armrest... The wood you see in the front is real. Including the matched veneers rolled over the former of the dash front rail. He and his wife worked really hard all weekend talking at length to all that wondered at the car and leaving many with one of their most memorable converations ever, let alone at a car show!

Dave, as good as them pics are they can't do the car justice, it is fantastic. The trimming as Chris says is top notch even has a champagne bottle and 2 glasses set into the rear armrest. I kept popping over to get a whiff of the inside of the car mmmmmlovely. It is the best interior I have seen in any P6, the boot has had the same treatment. Fantastic, and a really nice guy.
Great pics their guys, I suggest Frazzle TC becomes the P6 Clubs official photographer. :D

That NADA is gorgeous. They kindly let me and my mate sit inside it and it is a joy to behold. Fabulous car.

hi,
the NADA was one i fetched over from california and is a lovely rust free car. i drove it for 6 months before selling it to who owns it now. he certainly has done some work to it inside. it did not look like that while i owned it.
