No dash lights

Vim's P6

Hello all,
I have just fitted a new reostat, and still no dash lights. The fuse is intact, so wondering what else I should be looking at. Also wondering what the two red wires coming off the reostat are for.
Thank you folks

Hi Vim
if you bypass the rheostat do they work??
Easy to forget,to remember your sidelights must be on for the dash lights to work!!
is yours the round dial or strip type?? one test is to test the dashlight circuit independant of any other wiring or switches ie direct from battery ??? worth a 1/2 hrs fiddling to try it :p

Hello there.
Reostat is the round dial type. It is from England, so ment for right hand drive, going into a dash that is left hand drive, so fitted upside down. Not sure if this matters or not.
I will get a test light and try and see from there.Did have the side lights on
