Does anyone have a clue as to the numbers of P3 models that were made in LHD.....I see there were 9,111 P3's made in 48-49 of which 2989 were made in 49...That leaves 6122 made in 48 in both 60 and 75 form....i'm trying to derive how many of the 6122 were made in LHD. I'm ultimately trying to find out how many Rover 75 4 lighters were made in LHD....i relize this might be a stretch but someone must have a clue
Thanks

I don't know LHD or RHD but I do have the following information:

ROVER P3

Rover 60 4-light 1948-1949 363
Rover 60 6-light 1948-1949 911
Rover 75 4-light 1948-1949 2,639
Rover 75 6-light 1948-1949 5,196
Rover 75 Drop Head Coupe 1948 2
Total P3 Production 1948-1949 9,111

Also to remember is that 60s did not sell well and some were taken back from dealers to the factory and converted to 75s so that skews the numbers slightly.

Hello,

This is my first post to this forum. I am also a Rover nut having quite a few ranging from 1910 to the 90s. I have particular affection for the P3 having finished a resto last year on a 1949 LHD 6 light. I also have a 1948 4 light. As I am in the USA and sort of hold up the banner for Rover over here I can tell you with a fair degree of accuracy that less then 7 exist over here that are in running condition and perhaps less then 15 in any condition for all of North America.

Over here the weather was brutal to the rear end of the cars so most did not make it into the 60s

Hope this helps

Hi Dirk

Your reputation precedes you, you'll be most welcome here! For those that don't know Dirk I suggest a browse of his web site!

My Father and Grandfather - both ex Rover - were very sniffy about the P3 on account of the rear end construction. Grandfather insisted on being given a P2 over a P3 or P4 when he retired! My only comment on them is that I think the bumpers look rather cheap against the P2 and I prefer the pleated seats of the P2 to the flat panel of the P3. But both are real Rovers!
