P6 3500s hubcaps??? Must be silver plated???

I'm sure these were listed by this seller some weeks back, then the price was reduced and disappeared so I assumed they were sold. If its the same seller he's obviously deluded and thinks his original price is the correct one :roll:
 
There are two types of 3500S hubcaps, both made from stainless steel. The first and by far the most common feature a brushed finish, which by the look of it are what those are in the advert. The second are extremely rare and of far greater value. They feature a smooth highly polished finish, almost chrome like in appearance. When placing the two types together, the difference is instantly spotted.

Since the first auction ended, the seller has relisted them but with a reduced price, now only 125 Pounds.. :shock: So a reduction of 25 Pounds, still that is a good 100 Pounds more than what they should be. May be he payed through the nose for them, then found out he had been taken for a ride, so now he is trying to make up his loss and hopes that some other poor unsuspecting sod will fall for it too.

Back up for sale, this time at £90 :roll: He is slowly getting the hint that they may be a bit pricy, based on his monthly price reductions I estimate June before they are priced sensibly :LOL:
 
If he really wants to coin it, he should be listing them under VW - there must be some overpriced camper out there just begging for them... (sorry Tofufi!)

There's an 80s camper in our old neighborhood in Athens that has P6 hubcaps.
I'd completely forgotten that until now, thanks Chris :D
 
Just seen the relisting - they're not even NOS!

Reminds me of when I saw a listing for a 'complete' boot mount kit and sent a message asking if it included the brace bar for the inside of the boot lid as it wasn't in the picture, for which I got an abrupt and sarcastic reply saying 'of course not, why would it'?
