P6 panelwork

Hey folks, I'm thinking of getting a P6 and I was wondering if any of yous could tell me if repair sections are available for along the bottoms of the doors? I've got my eye on a 2200 SC auto but if memory serves (it's been a while since I've seen the car, it's been SORNed) then the bottoms of the doors are looking a little tired. Can I get suitable bits 'off the shelf' or will I need to get tinbashing?

BTW, which body bits should I poke at first for the 'best' signs of tinworm?

The outer sills are only screw on. They can hide an awful mess! If they have been welded on walk away. Lift up the carpets inside and look along the where the floor meets the sill. Lift up the rear seats and look under the insulation. Have a good poke around the inner wheel arches.

All areas you can get repair panels for - however it is often a loty cheaper to pay a bit more to get a better example.

My first P6 (when I was 18) looked wonderful, and even passed a couple of MOT's with flying colours. I only discovered she was a total wreck when I had a puncture and tried to jack her up! (Very little metal under the gleaming exterior!!)

Hi Guys!

Thanks for the tips, I'll print 'em off! I know a bit about this motor because I work with the guy who's selling it. Apparently it's got about 40k on the clock and the interior's still pretty mint. It's got those ET headrests, I've heard they're a bit unusual? I do know though that the rear wings are GRP (so I'll want to replace those) and the driver's door's a little tatty. :( Still, I'm no stranger to bodywork so I'm happy to do whatever needs to be done just so long as the monocoque under it's in pretty good shape.

BTW, if it works, here's a link to pics of my project car. I'm hoping that P6 ownership will be less traumatic than having to scour North America for parts for this exotic! I too know the pain of finding rot under shiny paint. :(
