Petrol Tank (V8 S2) and Rear bumper wanted

I've got a S2 P6B fuel tank in the car I'm currently wrecking.. don't have a rear bumper though
 
What is the condition inside? I am running injection and need it to be completely and utterly spotless inside. Let me know, thanks. Also what money is it?
 
I've no idea as it is still in the car. I don't mind removing it, but I don't have the inclination to clean it and check all the corners.. £20 for it if you're interested
 
I am of a belief that there is no point fitting a tank that is less than perfect, as I dont want to continually fit filters and corrosion in a tank, flaking etc is not ideal and will only worsen with age. I am running injection and dont want to be continually plagued by crap fuel and blocked injectors because of a poor tank.
 
You could give This a try if you're unsuccessful at getting a totally pristine as new tank. I wouldn't have thought rust was a particularly serious problem with P6 tanks as they're not exactly exposed to the elements being inside the boot.
 
Unfortunately for every gallon of ridiculously expensive petrol you buy you get a small amount of water mixed in with it, which then lays in the tank and rots it from the inside out, so even though as you say the tank is well protected on the outside, you can't escape the rust and debris that builds up on the inside.

However all cars suffer with the same problem so unless the tank is particularly bad proper filtration will keep it away from the EFI, and regardless of even a new tank, eventually the same thing will happen again. It can be a lot worse in tanks that have been left standing. Hence part of the reason for the move to plastic tanks.
 
Could always get a new tank made up to fit in the space available. If it has to be PERFECT is there any alternative ? When would the last genuine P6 tank have been made ?
