Radiator hoses top and bottom - how much? - Kevlar

I have bitten the bullet here in Belgium and ordered some Kevlar re-inforced top and bottom hoses for the radiator - These are being specially made for me and I had to order a minimum number (as a production run was required).

I will therefore have a good few spare ones. What would you say would be a fair price to charge on ebay for selling the surplus and would people be interested?

To cover my costs I would be looking at around £15 each + postage.

Is that a fair amount for Kevlar re-inforced radiator hoses? And is that the sort of money you would be willing to pay for brand new ones? (if you needed them?)

It depends whether you want to do a good turn or make some profit - surely?

The unscrupulous I would imagine will just say "YES" or more likely "LESS". Then again so would alot of others. There are sadly very few people out there who are willing to do YOU a good turn! Lets be honest - money is tight and here you are - handing it on a plate!

Why not just put one set on and see how the bidding goes.

E.g. I own an MG ZT. You may have noticed the Union Jack/chequered flag badge on the rear of them. I saw a Scottish/cheq badge on eBay about a year ago for a couple of quid. My wife is from Glasgow and I thought about buying one but didnt.

Since the demand, they now sell on a buy it now of £20 each!!

See how you go and dont rip anyone off - especially yourself!

Zebedee37,

I'm interested in buying a set of hoses. I've emailed you on the forum but I'm not sure if the system is working. Can you have a look and email me back if it is, or post a reply if it is not?

Zebedee.
Weekleys list V8 top & bottom hoses (Kevlar) at £20 per pair +VAT & postage so you'd be looking at around £30 for the two. SG Walker also have them for about the same, I bought a pair recently.
Sounds like you've paid about the going rate but why didn't you just order a pair from one of the specialists in the U.K, then you wouldn't have had to commit the money for the minimum manufacture run? I don't think hoses are in short supply & they all seem to supply Kevlar items as standard. It seems more hassle than it's worth as you have to sell them to recoup your outlay.
