just fitting a clarion stereo to the p6 i have 3 wires one is illumination, one is plus 12v accessory, and one is permanent live.if i fit the permanent live to the fused supply what do i wire the other two to.
anyone any ideas.cheers steve

On my 74 3500 model - There is a purple and Brown wire ending behind the dash, at the back towards the bulkhead, with a bullet type connection. This is a switched feed labelled 73 on the wiring diagram. looks like this exists on all models.

I decided it was too difficult to take a permanent live connection from around the fuse box or anywhere else behind the dash, all rather thick wires. So I split the live feed behind the alternator and fed a wire back through one of the existing rubber grommets at the back of the dash.

Stuck a fuse on both for good measure, available at halfords.

You may find the fused radio supply is switched through the ignition
You can use the cigar lighter supply for a permanent live supply and the panel lights ( 2 festoon bulbs under the switch panel) for an illumination feed
Put a separate earth on the radio , don't rely on it earthing thro' the aerial

finished putting the radio in turned out when i had a new loom made up they installed connections for a modern radio still took some time working it out though.just need to fit an amp now when the cash flow allows.
thanks for the replys.steve
