I have a rear view mirror complete with light unit all in very nice working condition. My car has one of these with a dipping mirror so I doubt I will ever need this

open to offers as I wouldn't have the first idea how much they are worth. I am based in Herefordshire but it would be very easy to post

Hi Nick

These were fitted to cars pre about mid '65. They are rare and sought after. In particular from your point of view, the lamp section is prone to becoming fried and brittle if the light is left on for any length of time. So my advice would be to keep it as a spare! If you still wanted to sell, I guess Ebay would yield between £7 and £25 depending who's watching on that day!

They went a bit later than that Chris. Up to the end of '67 I think when the interior light moved from the back to the centre for the '68 model year. But they are still quite rare. I bought a spare off Ebay a couple of years back, I think I paid about 10-15 pounds?
They certainly are delicate though, If I were you I would hang on to it just in case because if your one breaks, it could be a long time before you find another.

I fitted on to Vanessa - best thing I found to do is to fit it with one of the new LED festoon bulbs that are available on eBay. Loads more light and no heat is generated.

You get a very bright white instead of a dull yellow light, but at least you can see what you're doing!

Cheers,
Bri.

ditto with mine, and my '70 estate had one fitted, along with the early rear interior light.
