The 2011 RP6C National Rally will be held for the second time at the Hawkesyard Estate, Armitage Park, Rugeley, which is just a few miles off the M6 Motorway, in Staffordshire. We have again moved in a new direction by making the National Rally a weekend event.

This year we are including Saturday into the festivities, so that you can make a weekend of it if you would want. Saturday will include an afternoon road run around the beautiful Staffordshire countryside and an evening meal, details will be sent out to those expressing an interest.

On Sunday, we will hold the main event and there will of course be a few competitions to take part in. As always, there will be the self judging for your favourite P6, the ‘Ladies’ and ‘Next Generation’ also have their choice, as does our Chairman with the ‘The Chairman’s Choice’ trophy. There will also be a Furthest Travelled and Best Everyday P6 along with Best Non P6 and other catagories. We also have by popular request the return of PADS Canine Display Team to give us a demonstration and several other attractions including trade spares and autojumble. We will have a bouncy castle for the juniors again, and we will doing a limited amount of valuations. If you would like a valuation, please pre book with Nick Dunning.

We have a few caravan places with power for anyone who wants to camp on site and plenty of local B&B’s and also a field available for camping. There is a restaurant on site and again we have booked a teatime buffet type meal, so there will be no need to rush off. If you would like to join us for the buffet could you indicate this on your entry form or direct to Mark Gray (£6.00 per head ).

The gates are open on Sunday from 09.30am and entry is £6.00 per car payable to RP6C in advance. Please return your completed entry form (below) to the club address, marked for The National Rally. Passes will be sent out a few weeks before the event. Separate booking forms will be sent out for Saturday and Teatime Buffet, and this year there is no need for an SAE. Alternatively you can use the on-line booking form at

PS

As before RP6C is not required to attend this event, but rest assured, Nick and I will badger you if you're not!

A very big thank you goes to everyone who attended and helped to make the day another fantastic success for the Rover P6 Club. We thought the weather was going to be spoil the day but as it turned out the one brief shower didn't dampen any of your enthusiasm afterall. Special thanks also goes out to Ian Wilson and Kevin Allen for bringing their trade spares stands along and I hope it proved viable for them both. Another special thank you is sent to Michelle for the bouncy castle, Mel for bringing the Police Speed Camera van along and I must say big big thank you to Hawkesyard's Chef for the BBQ....it must have been good because when I went back for seconds, there was nothing left. Final thank yous to the Stuart for the use of the hospitality unit at short notice, Paul for the PA and Clive for doing the valuations on behalf of the Club.

I must add a Thank you for the kind words that you have posted on here and I'm glad to hear that you have got home safely, although there are still some of you on the way home, so take care. We actually settled down to a glass of wine and something to eat around 8.30pm last night, but today I'm still sorting the trailer and contents of the two cars we used for the equipment, while also preping the trailer ready for the National Restoration Show on the 23rd October. Don't forget that the RP6C display area, will host of the meeting point for CRF members at that show at 12 noon on the day.

The white 216 VDP auto, is a particularly fine example with a very low mileage and a very inetresting history and is not Chris York's, who unfortunately met with several vehicle failures on route to the event. And sadly Chris and our German friends who were traveling with him, didn't make it to the rally.
Thank you once again for attending the event and making it another major success for the RP6C, and very well done to all of your who came away with trophies and awards.
