Worth the drive from Lingfield to see this beauty.

Drool Drool

Unreal car - chassis number 40100038A.

For the uninitiated that's, in number terms, the 38th RHD Export Rover 2000.

The car appears to have been actually built circa May/June 1964.

Gobsmacked to see something this early we'd not seen before. Biscuit interior, Notek spotlights, Heated Rear Window.

As Alan says, worth the drive just to see this car.

This photo has been sent to me by Wolfgang Mayer (the owner of the blindingly beautiful Rover 20 at the event), with the subtitle:

'Look at that, doesn't Rovering make you happy'

In the photo is myself, Adam Birch and Adrian Mitchell.

Great weather and a good day. Nice to see some familiar faces 8)

Why is there some fella doing the birdy song in front of my Vitesse? :?

What a very pleasant and interesting day :D Thanks to all you Rover lads that made me feel very welcome indeed with my SD1 back-up car: 1971 Triumph 2.5 Pi. I've now got to replace my knackered SD1 water pump before I can enjoy some more V8 motoring :) Whitewebbs...Excellent venue!

Glad you all had a good day, those smiles say it all! Couldn't make it in the end due to something cropping up, but it looks like you chaps had a good turn out

Is that the Practical Classics P6 3500 on the first photo ? Doesn't look as good as I'd thought it was

It is, PC Editor Danny Hopkins came down and revealed himself as big an anorak as the rest of us :)

Thanks Grim. It looks like it was a good gathering. We were think of going but the lure of a bike ride in the sunshine was too great - that and the fact that neither of my P6's are on the road yet. :D
