Scottish All Rover Rally 2013

I'll definitely be there, but in a corner, as I'm bringing the 75, to save some cash.
The P6s are all together, except the masterclass one.

there is also supposed to be a small display of P6 for the 50th, not sure what and how that will look so will be a surprise for me on Sunday :D

I'm planning to come along on Sunday afternoon after I finish work, will all the cars still be assembled there after 1.30?
Will be just coming as spectator as rover is still in bits :(

We have arrived in Glasgow, the sun was beaming all the way up and is still shining at the moment. Looks like its going to be a cracking day tomorrow.

What a fantastic day at the SARR. Would like to say thanks to the organisers. Really enjoyed it today.

On a personal note driving there and back in a three car convoy was awesome. Loved the looks we were getting on the motorway.

Good to meet some new faces and to meet up again with some old ones. First time at a show for us in Scotland, nice venue, well organised and really good to see so many nice P6's well done to all you guys and girls for attending.
Good to put faces to the forum members and see their cars up close.
Big thanks to Simon (sico24) for the seats and for dropping them off at our friends house as our car was full. Top Man.
We attended with our none driving friends, Chris is an avid pushbike rider. We all had raffle tickets and Chris was a winner, he looked through all the prizes and could not see anything for him as it was all car related, then he spotted a "kite", so he had that and was quite pleased with himself, until we told him it was a folded sunscreen to put in your windscreen. Not much use to him on his bike, so we inherited it, not that it will get much use in Manchester.
Well done again to all you P6 owners for getting your cars their.

Excellent weekend of SARR fun and frolics.

The road run on Saturday was made all the more interesting by some dodgy route instructions  :? but we got there.

Enjoyed the dinner and quiz on Saturday evening and the show day was good too. Good to meet a few forumites and see some familiar cars again. Big round of applause for the organisers. They do a cracking job every year and this year was no exception.

Well done to Barry Gill for third place in the Master Class with his glorious low mileage 2000TC and well done to Mick (happy days) for third place in the P6 Class :D

I'll upload some pictures when photobucket starts playing again

Dave

What a great display with the cars in type groups. It was good to see your cars in the metal and it really has given me motivation and inspiration to get my finger out and get on with sorting my car out to get it back on the road.

Great to see so many of you turn out, interestingly i think the majority are forum members.

I still havent managed to have a P6 ready to enter but nice to see my old ARJ there...

Thanks for coming and making it a success.

Colin

Hi to all

First, thanks to all the organizers - a great day out. The visit to the Castle was excellent too, and the provision of a coffee van was inspired.

Great to meet so many people from the forum. Mick, hope you get home Ok with the seats - thanks for an entertaining run to Bellshill. Fraser - respect for running so many classics whilst a student! Dave - good to see you again and loved the car. Graham - nice to see you as always - hope to meet up in Linlithgow soon (I will be away next Farmers' Market but back for the July one).

No-one seemed to want my S1 TC - after inspiration from Barry Gill, maybe I'll just find another garage to store it in and keep it! Although if someone wants to make me an offer.......................................

Hope to see some of you again next week at Thirlestane (weather permitting)

Regards

Simon

Simon, yes we got home ok, the rain and wind as we left wasn't good but we took it easy and arrived safely, seats on or back seat. Cheers
Well done to Barry for his 3rd place in the Masterclass and to Dave for his 2nd place in our P6 class, well done guys.
Hope everyone else got home safely, without incident.

I see you parked next an extremely distinguished P6, Mick! And is that you chatting to it's owner?

From memory that is EXC 525 C, which despite the '65 C factory reg, is in fact car no 100,the October 1963 Motor Show car in a fair imitation of it's original light gold paint. The only works metallic painted P6 until the Platinum VIP's. The reason for it's odd registration is that it spent an extended period on promotion work and was then used at Cardiff Pengham for P6 familiarisation training. So it didn't get round to being road registered until it was nearly two years old.

Chris

I certainly was next to the gold P6 Chris, Brenda filled me in on its history and had pics as well. Very interesting car.
Brenda was also pulling a not so small trailer and we were very surprised to find that when she opened the boot, that was as full as can be as well. With her coming up from down south and taking in the Beamish show she must have done some miles. Which I think is fantastic. That gold paint certainly suits the car, it looks very classy. She has pics of it in "Onyx Green" which again is a lovely colour but it was changed for Gold for Earls Court ( I think).

Really enjoyed being there on the Sunday. Again. just to echo my thanks to the SARR committee for organising such a great event. There were some stunning cars at the show as usual and it was a nice surprise to see EXC.

Tam, really liked that through the bonnet picture (you know the one), I'll save a copy of that. Just as well I managed to get back the dipstick that the wee lad had removed from my engine  .
