sloppy gearstick - bushes gone

Hi all,
a friend of mine removed the gearbox from my 3500s over the weekend to try and find out what was causing difficult and near impossible gearchanging problems. He has diagnosed that all the bushes on the remote shaft to the selectors need to be renewed as the movement in the shaft is so sloppy that its difficult to select the gears, apart from this the gearbox itself is in reasonable condition for its age.
Does anyone know where i can get a good set of bushes from i have tried all the usuall suppliers advertised in the club mag but with no joy they seem to be very rare, someone suggested making by turning them out of polythene sleeving but i dont have the facilities for that,
any comments much appreciated as this is hopefully the last

stumbling block i will have before getting her on the road for summer !!

thanks colin

Hi Colin,

I thought that JR Wadhams had a glossy ad in the club magazine for the remote linkage bushes?

I recentlyish had my gear box rebuilt and I had managed to break the remote llinkage in 2, the guy who did the box welded this for me, he also made up some bushes for it and charged me £10. so I think that you could make or source somthing, if you have a decent motor factors take in the linkage and as them if they have any ideas you may be surprised.

Colin
