As from next year I understand Cellulose paint will no longer be available for DIY car spraying and is to be replaced by water based paint,Has anyone used this yet on a DIY basis,is it DIY user friendly? I have been spraying Classic cars for the last 30 odd years with CELLY,is this the end of home spraying?? :( :( :( :(

I cant get proper cellulose up here anymore -using synthetic stuff right now my almond car - it just seems to take forever the harden never mind dry!

The last time I had a Rover spayed, he stopped bothering Triumphs, but lost his voo voo vooom. He needed regular exercise to keep in trim   :p

that synthetic cellulose is cheap - I picked up a litre yesterday, so I now have 2 litres of paint, 2 litres of synthetic thinner, 1 ltr primer, 5 ltr gun wash std thinner, 1 box tac rags and a roll of masking paper all for £48!
if I get a bad finish I can blame it on cheapy paint! (more likely me thou!):p

rover3500 re-spray

Synthetic gloss cellulose - total cost of paint & primer + thinners and a roll of masking paper (all other bits in stock!) >> 2L of Paint, 1 Ltr Primer Less than £50
quite a good finish! - made sure some orange peel though to make it look period!

:D

Looking good! Is that Almond or Turmeric? hard to tell on my compy.

Would be nice to have a 'Images' section for members cars on the forum, what do you think?

Well its supposed to be Almond - but I think the paint on the car was a bit yellower than that - only a shade - but its fairly close but yellower ! It does however look pretty dam good - problem now of course is this would be the best time to sell it! :D
