Springs for a 72 TC - interchangeabilty & recognition

I have just aquired a set of springs. On checking the specifications in the Manual. I am sure that I have a pair of front (longer 16+ inches with 7/8 coils)and a pair of rearswhich are shorter(approx13.25 inches) I am having some difficulty in recognition inso far they appear to be nearly as long as a series one car and definitely shorter than a series two. I have 2 questions 1-Are series one and two cars interchangeable and useable other a small height difference?
2-Green/Red stripe where is it? After at least 30 years I expect it is reasonable to have lost this stripe under rust and crud.

I can't see why they can't be interchanged offhand, but fitting s/h springs of unknown origin is not something I'd do. Rears are easy to fit, fronts less so, and I can't think that new springs would be so dear as to rule that out as the way to go.
