Stainless Steel Exhaust

I am thinking about having a full stainless steel system fitted to my P6 3500s. My only concern is a possible change in 'authentic' V8 rumble (ie sound!). Grateful if anyone could share their expereinces of having a stainless system fitted. Views from those who think it may not be such a good idea would also be welcome!

Thanks in advance.

Ezza,
My understanding (as I don't have a stainless system, yet) is that it's a fit-once-and-forget type of system.
The material used is thinner than mild steel systems and hence they sound slightly "tinnier" than standard but you either get used to the sound and/or the stainless system soon gets coated with soot which returns the sound to standard. No worries here, I think (except the expense of course!).
Regards, John.

Ezza,

I've rum a V8S with a complete stainless system for some years now, and John is quite right. Initially it is 'tinnier' but soot does return the noise to normal reasonably soon. I would however say that I can still notice a difference if I rev the car when standing still (ie: at traffic lights!) - but seriously - this is rarely noticed.

Phil.
