Tank removal

Hi!
My 1971 2000TC has rear inner wing corrosion and once the wing is off it looks quite frayed! In an earlier Post concerning this problem Ianp6man gave what I am certain is good advice to say the that the tank must be removed. So that I can grind and cut back I have removed the seats, carpets and trim but there one major obstacle- I dont know how to get the tank out! Neither Mr Haynes or the 2000 Workshop Manual mentions it. Does anyone have any advice to offer.
Thanks

hi john,
from underneath the car, remove the two fuel lines screwed into the sender unit and the two electrical wires as well. from inside the boot, remove the back 'plate' it is a piece of cardboard covered in carpet, there are two metal straps holding it in place, a 7/16th socket will remove them. also you will have to undo the jubilee clips holding the rubber pipe to the filler neck and pull off two plastic breather pipes from your tank. hope that helps.
