Having got the gearbox back in and the car running, I've had problems adjusting the throttle mechanism, because the link that joins the pushrod to the engine does not align.
At the rear it is located in a rubber 'grommet' in a bracket fixed to the bodywork (actually (I think) the steering damper). At the other end it attaches via a plastic sleeve and two roll-pins to a bar mounted on the engine connected to the carbs.
Unfortunately, the two mounts are approximately 20mm out of alignment, and the plastic sleeve repeatedly 'pops' off the roll pins. There is limited adjustment on the both mounts, but not enough. Is this misalignment common? If so, what's the fix?
