Vintage Rover publicity pictures...

As we all know when any company releases a new car, or simply wants to further promote an existing model, they get photographers in to snap their motors... Rover (BLMC, BL, Austin Rover et al...) were no different and took many publicity pictures for their models... I found the one below and wondered if anybody has any others for the P6 that they would like to share...?

I also found a (very early) Range Rover one so I thought I'd sneak it in...!

I think you will probably find that, at the time these pictures were taken, that Rover still had its own photographic department and they didn't call anyone in to take the pictures. Certainly all of the early pictures were done in house.

Now you come to mention it I remember there being a letter sent in to 'Classic & Sports Car' a couple of years ago from a Rover ex-employee who was reminiscing about the chap who used to be the art director for Rover publicity (I think!)... I shall try and dig out that issue and share that letter...

There was once a chap around here who sold all the press advert pictures of various cars in poster size
I know we went to see him on the way to a Shere meeting years ago ,Unfortunately I've lost his details

Only the one P6 poster listed at the moment, but I'm sure I bought one of him a few years back (early 3500S front 3/4 image viewed from above) that is currently residing on the garage wall.

No,this chap was in deepest Surrey .He had boxes of prints of all types of cars .I bought some prints of adverts that are in the P6 anthology books
