What classics have you owned??

Well now we've got the Volvo fans out of the closet, I might as well admit to a 360GL at one stage. My deffence is that it had certain family similarities to the P6 - a de dion rear end and 2 litre SOHC motor amongst them. I thought it was a really cracking car and much underrated - best to forget the 340 though.

i wanted one of them!
at my first car auction it was that or a westminster? (3litre rolls royce engined farina?)
my elder bro' who held my cash said NO and i got a mk2 cavalier!
probably the sensible choice for a novice but did this show a classic inclination at an indecently early age or just stupidity?

No, it wasn't the Equipe. Mine was white with black sills and black panel on boot lid.

Similar to this one, but not in as good condition...

An Allegro SS ? Forgotten those
Is the one in the picture on Denovos or are they just wheel trims ?
I admire anyone who can make an Allegro last for 35 years

i'd not known of an 'ss' allegro.

am i mellowing or does it really look good or am i just stupid?

The wheels are steel, painted black. They are similar in principle to the Rostyle wheels.

Hello. My name's Jon and I'm a volvo-holic. DAMN, wrong meeting!!!
It does seem there are many Volvo fans on here, mine goes something like this, although not necessarily in this order.
Citroen cx familiale
Rover SD1 3500vdp
Granada mkII 2.8 ghia
Alfa sud 33(?) fast but rotten
Capri with 3.1 V6 and hideous body kit which I thought made it look just like an Aston (oh dear!)
Capri 1.6 laser, really good and honest example but after the 3.1 I couldn't live with it sold it on
Rover SD1 3500 SE made to look like vitesse with cams and porting. and extra spots and a spoil-it on the boot
Ford P100 Pick up from South Africa with 3.0 V6 engine twin weber side exit cherry bombs and wolf race slots
Lincoln continental (77?) complete rotbox think flintstones car but HUGE V8
Rover SD1 (again)2600 Ex police with uprated bits on it, really liked this one shame I got rid, overheated a bit though.
1200 Beetle with 1600 engine, one of my favourites
1303S beetle with 1600 engine, hmm well it was alright but I cut it in half and triked it instead
1300 late beetle with 1600 engine and noisy pipes bright orange with wide wheels and a webasto
1967 1200 beetle full restoration (I mean really full, nut and bolt) refinished in Rolls Royce paint and loadsa little improvements in keeping with the time and very subtle, ran over some debris in road which chopped the fuel line over the exhaust and the whole lot went up in flames. Still wrenches my heart that one.
Rover 2000SC series 2 the better half's daily driver
Rover 2000TC series 1 my somewhat sick soon to be daily driver
And well over 50 motorbikes through time all jap or european bar a couple (Triumph 650 and a James 150 cadet otherwise known as the stinkwheel), but I've got it down to a 74 BMW R90/6, an 87 BMW K100RT, a 97 Kawasaki 650 trail bike, and a honda 500 chopper in bits. Was in the trade so many swaps deals and purchases happened.
It's frightening when you list it all down, and I know I've forgotten a few too, hmmm wonder what's for sale in PC this month???

The suspension packed in and I px'd it for a granada. The Citroen looked very clean from the outside but hid the horrors beneath and the guy that had it off me had other cx's and I think it was donor'd. You're right though it was enormous, I was playing in a band at the time and could get the whole band's equipment in and still have room for myself and a fat drummer. Although I must admit I had forgotten about the foot brake, it's been that long. I remember incredibly strange switchgear in strange places though.

my old man had a white one when i was younger, i vividly remember sitting in the back and loving it. Like a french ghostbusters car!
