What's better than a V8 - two V8s of course

Hi. I've just joined as I'm going to need some help. I've got two 1972 Rover P6 V8s - one Almond one Tobacco Leaf. Neither is roadworthy. Almond runs beautifully. Tobacco Leaf has been sitting for about 12 years with heads off and having finally been reassembled won't start. Long term objective is to make both roadworthy and driveable, which is going to be something of a challenge as both base units are in pretty poor condition. I think I'm going to have to learn how to weld. In the short term I want to get the non-starter to start, and will be posting relevant questions on the "V8 engine" section very shortly, as all attempts so far have failed. Looking forward to interacting with all the experts. They're not very pretty (yet) but will post some pictures anyway when the rain stops and I can get outside to take some.

And here they are in all their glory. Almond runs very nicely but needs brakes and bodywork (surprise, surprise!) sorting before MOT. Took the heads off Tobacco Leaf about 12 years ago to sort blown gasket, and did major mischief to knuckle of right hand undoing the last head bolt. Put heads away in garage, closed bonnet and sulked for 12 years. But all back together and running again (after a fashion) now - see here for thrilling account: http://www.classicroverforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9512. Not running great yet, so needs engine to be properly sorted, brakes, tyres, front lights (obviously), some instruments and bodywork before MOT. Almond lives in the garage. Tobacco Leaf under a tarpaulin. I was too embarrassed to also provide a photo of the neat little pile of rust on the floor under the sills each side of TL, which seems to get bigger every time I open and close one of the doors. As I think I said before, at some point I'm going to have to get a welder and learn to use it. Hmmm where to start. I think I'll cut the grass instead.
