Where's Pilkie

Hey Dave

Was not sure whether I should read this thread to its end.
Too much bad news going down this year.
I am SO relieved to hear you are alright.

I wish you ALL THE BEST and
EINEN GUTEN RUTSCH!
(Something for you to figure out what it means if you like )

Get well soon!

stefan

Dave,
Welcome home! Look after yourself and don't rush the healing, your body knows what it needs.
All the best for the New Year, sir.

I am very pleased to hear that you are back home and feeling much better Pilkie :)

All the best for 2014,
Ron.

Hi all.
Its gradually getting easier to move about without getting knackered!
Can drive up to supermarket and get essentials like steaks and cream cakes!
Had about a stone of weight loss overall, but that has now settled since coming out of hosp.
The more I move about the better,as everything heals!
Just had the news that I will be having a course of chemo starting in about 2-3 wks!
Shouldnt get hair loss or feeling sick!,but?,I may get tingly fingers, and feel tired!
Looking forward to getting back to my p/t driving job asap,as that will be good for me! :)

Hi Dave .
Hope the chemo goes o.k for you . Glad things are getting easier too . Not normally one to preach but are steaks a good idea at the moment considering what you've been through ( says she waiting for my bacon sarnie to cook  ) All the best with it :D

Been a hard winter for you - come spring this will all be behind you and you can get on with enjoying life again.

Morning all.
Moving about is a lot easier now, less tired, but still tender!
Even managed to replace the water pump on the V8 last weekend! :)
I start a 6 month course of chemo today! :|
Apparently the type I am having can cause nausia and tiredness, maybe a bit of extremity tingling!
Hopefully it wont affect me too much, and the chemo will zap any nasties still in my system, but only close monitoring and time will tell!!

Great to hear you are up and about the garage again, albeit gently.
Strength for the chemo, too. I believe some can be nasty, but it's all
going to get you back in shape so grit the teeth if it gets bad and
remember we are all thinking of you.

When the chemo treatment has finished in July, and before the colostomy reversal op is booked for Sept/Oct,I think I am going to treat myself to a few weeks away and go visit my mum and step dad in Waipu,NZ. :D
Being towards the top of the north island the climate is very inviting!
And have a bit of luxury and relaxation treatments at their local hotsprings.
Just got to see what the return flights cost at that time of year!! :|
Once the reversal is done, then there will be another month or so to recover before I can think of going back to or looking for work!
So the beginning of 2015 will be a fresh start to the rest of my life! :)
