Winter start up - engine wear

I`m thinking its time to start up the engine in my P6B. Its been stood for about four months now and I dont want clutch problems. What do you suggest I should do to minimise engine wear? ie take out the distributer and achieve oil pressure using the priming tool in a drill, or is this going too far?
 
Crank it over on the starter without pulling out the choke and see if the oil gauge starts to move .If it does , fire it up.
