In many ways a car that sees little use ends up in far worse mechanical shape than one which sees continual use.

I was chatting, this weekend, to the owner of a 1967 2000TC same colour as my latest aquisition and he said his mechanic had advised him to drive the car more often. When he went to take it out after a year long lay-up the clutch was seized as were the front brakes. The car required quite a bit of work to get it driveable again.

I agree Ron. There's a Jaguar XK150 in a dealer near me that has only 580 miles on the clock and is for sale for £249,995 - about £200,000 more than if it was used properly and had been restored. In my opinion it's a waste of a good car as you couldn't use it without the value halving and it still needs restoring because all of the rubber components will crumble away.

Ultra low mileage is probably worse than something that's been to the moon and back but had good maintenance.

Stina, you should revell in the bargain that your car is having seen that advert!

Hi Paul
Yes . Had a few teething troubles to begin with but not £12,750 worth !

By that measure, redrover should be worth at least 6 grand!
But since we're all enthusiasts, I'm not going to rip you off.... Five and a half, and you can drive it away. You can't say fairer than that! Any takers....?
Thought not.........!
