Wreck Rescue

happy days

Just watched a programme on tv. In it a guy had an SD1 which he needed welding up, body work sorted and spraying. He was quoted £7000 over here. He looked around and done his research and found some guys who have had a couple of cars restored in Poland. So he looked at their cars and decided to bring his to Poland to this garage for a price. They quoted him € 3000.

That's funny they also do that here too... Haven't you been undercut by a pole Mick? If not you soon will be and then find you have to put thier work right lol... Not saying that all thier work is bad but as in all cases there's good and bad IMO..

This bloke inspected their work before he left his car, that is a massive difference to save though.

Yes that's the one, so €3000 to do the bodywork, expenses to and from Poland, all mechanicals sorted and asking price £4500. Seems a decent price then

Maybe as long as you're careful not to see it from the sellers point of view. All to easy to get caught up in the seller's value of the car rather than what it's worth in this evil capitalist society of ours....

Very good point. Why travel to Poland when you can have it done on your doorstep...well nearly. For half the price of a reputable bodyshop to do the same repair, I would bring a suitable magnet with me on collection
