Wrinkly/wobbly seat piping...!!!

Hello folks. I haven't been a P6 owner for a while now (which I hope to remedy soon!!!) but something has always niggled me...

What causes the seat piping to become 'warped' on the flat pleat leather seats...?! Is it to do with the leather shrinking or is it something else?!

Can it be 'cured' in any way at all? I only ask as when I see this it does put me off some cars that have this quirk on their otherwise fine looking interior!!!

Any advice/pointers would be great... :wink:

Two things you can try.
1. Gently warming the piping and seeing if it 'settles'
or
2. If you can find an end of the piping pull it carefully with pliers while going along the edge with the palm of your hand so the piping moves.
I had one seat where the edge looked like the crust of a cornish pastie,pulling the piping and at the same time manipulating the edge of the seat made it much better and its stayed OK.
