zircon blue paint code

he guys i am now thinking of putting my series 1 v8 zircon blue but looking for the colour codes what do you all think of zircon blue as mine is scarab blue series 2 colour as i am trying to get my looking like a series 1 again
 
I defniitely prefer Zircon to Scarab. But if you're going to change the colour why not change it completely? Do you know what colour it was originally? And what colour interior do you have? For an S1 V8 my favourite colours are Davos White (like mine!) or Burnt Grey. Or my all time favourite P6 colour - April Yellow, very rare, only done Jan '68 to Apr '69. Have a look at Rudiger's colour chart:

I'll have a look at my Zircon seres 1 tomorrow in the light and see what the decal says, I'm sure you'll probably have the info already by then but a little more info can't hurt. You never know what might crop up with disrepancies and so on.
 
The paint code shouldn't be too much of an issue for a full respray. You need enough paint that you'd have to go to an auto paint shop for it, and they will have have the mixing details available to them. Just tell them the colour name and year. Likewise if you get a spray shop to do it.

A red interior should set it off beautifully!

thanks guys well i will be planning on spraying it my self and see what it turns out like as it will be cheaper to do it then take it to a body shop yea that does sound nice blue with red interior with a set of minlite wheels if any 1 has some photos please upload some so i can have a look at
 
yea good idea i was thinking of getting 5 litres but not sure if that will be enough hoping to get it through the shows this year then get it resprayed after them sorting out the inside at the moment cant wait to get it all done going to look much better then it is now

I've seen that video, excellent 8)
Mine is in a matt polished through BMW colour that looks like P5 Admiralty blue :? I like the P5 colour but will probably go back to Zircon for authenticity too :)

Hi Gareth,

Here's a picture of my car, an early series 2 in Zircon Blue with 14inch Minilites on the Stelvio Pass last year.



The wheels were already on my car when I bought it but If I was going to buy them myself I'd look in to getting 15inch ones as the tyre choice is greater.

hi paul thanks for that picture your car looks very nice yea i am hoping to get it sprayed this year and get a set of 15" wheels on it as i got rostyles on it now and i am thinking of selling them
