Thanks gents.
The set up with the flat non-pressurised cap makes sense to me and I’m pretty sure my last P6 was the same.
I suspect I have been overthinking this and have read too much conflicting information.
Decision made.
Thanks again.
Paul.
Hi all,
Apologies for resurrecting my original post but I’ve finally installed the coolant bottle today, five and a half years after I purchased it.
It took me less than an hour.
This has now generated another question, with regards to radiator cap pressures.
From what I’ve read on this...
Hi all,
Was tidying up the boot in the P6 and came across this item. I can’t remember/recall what it is or where it’s from.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Paul
And then there were two….
I don’t think the red one has moved since I posted the original picture but it’s now has a stable mate.
The blue one appeared probably 2-3 months ago but today was the first chance I got to stop and take a photo.
Someone is up for a challenge!
Blanking number plates in photos is beyond my capabilities! I suspect it’s not registered.
I drive past that particular lot in the industrial estate usually once a fortnight. It wasn’t there last time as far as I can recall.
Hopefully someone’s new project.
Hi all,
Spotted the above in a industrial estate in Morwell, Victoria.
behind locked gates so was unable to see any more. Doesn’t look too bad from a distance.
Paul.
I had a similar light in the same position from a car alarm system now thankfully removed.
Somewhat obvious question, have you followed the wires from the rear of the bulb?
Hi Colin,
I’m pretty sure the fault lies in the clock or its power supply as the fuse blows as soon as the purple wire is connected to the terminal on the back of the clock.
I will double check using the bulb method as I have learnt from previous experience that auto electrics lie somewhere...
Hi all,
I don’t normally like resurrecting old threads but it doesn’t seem appropriate to start a new one.
The Kienzle clock in my 1975 3500S has never worked since I acquired the car. This week I removed it and found the soldered link had melted.
The clock ticks along quite happily if wound by...
Opened the boot today as it was locked and no keys so had to pick the lock (10 seconds to pic, don't think i will be keeping anything valuable in there )
You can take the boy out of Barnet….
It looks like a challenge, but hopefully an enjoyable one. There is an enormous amount of help and...
Hi Steve,
I feel you pain.
I recently rebuilt my HIF6 carbs and fitting the spring was probably the most challenging part.
I assume you are talking about the spring on the butterfly spindle.
When you say it refuses to sit right, is it trying to pop off the spindle?
I’ve attached a photo of one...
“Made in The Broadway, Hendon, which l know tolerably well, in 1967.”
TRM,
I grew up on the Broadway in Hendon. My mum still lives there. Small world.
I have many happy memories of various mischief making along that stretch of the A5.
If your battery is the issue and not holding it’s charge then charging it will make no difference.
You need to use a known good healthy battery to exclude it as the culprit.
Simplest option is a straightforward jump start.
I feel your pain and frustration.
I had something very similar happen to me a while ago. It turned out to be an aftermarket immobiliser switch that I was unaware existed.
Short lived joy
Have you definitely excluded the battery as the culprit? Do the battery terminals heat up when you try and...
Tor,
If all the external indicator lights work correctly with both the hazard lights and the indicator stalk, that implies to me (I’m happy to be corrected if wrong) that the wiring loom is sound and the issue is within the circuit in the dashboard to the ‘green arrow’ light globes.
Are there...
