Boot carpet

Hi all,
I needed to remove the final drive bracket and 2 of the bolts are accessed from inside the luggage boot. In the process the rubber carpet that is glued to the base unit got torn while I was trying to remove it. Does anyone know where I can find the dimpled material used for these carpets?

regards
Richard

As it is moulded to shape , and having not found any similar material, I have found it better to repair by bonding leather cloth to the reverse face.

I have thought of that but since I only need the part from the petrol tank down to the boot floor which does not really have any mouldings, I tried my luck in replacing it . Thanks for your suggestion . I will wait to see if someone has found something similar and the if not will go down the repairing route.

All the pieces are moulded, though the part you tore is probably the closest to just flat. I've never seen a bulk material with the same kind of dimpling, so repairing is the best approach in my mind. I have used pond liner material for the back patch rather than leather cloth and it's worked well.

Yours
Vern

Before I try repairing the rear bulkhead boot carpet, does anyone have a good secondhand one they wish to sell? this is the carpet that starts from just after the fuel tank going all the way down to the boot floor. Thanks.

Richard
