    Thanks Harvey I need to find a longer dip stick to check the oil level. I did put the 14 pints of AQM mineral oil specified in my Haynes manual. Regards Andy

    Thanks> I am not sure that the dipstick is correct as it came in a box of bits. My reconditioned gearbox is leaking and I have been told that I may have overfilled it. Hence the question.

    I have a Borg Warner 35 gearbox with my 3.5 V8. The dipstick and dipstick tube are both 500 mm or 19 1/2 inches long meaning that there will always be oil in the tube. Can someone tell me if the dipstick is too short and what the correct length should be. Thanks.
