    Low oil pressure and noise

I'm thinking about taking the engine out. The engine bay needs work, one of the exhaust manifolds needs replaced and the gear change is stiff at best. I have good power and no smoke so I think the bottom end is ok but the top is another story.

    Low oil pressure and noise

I would say I believe the gauge given the noise. I'm using comma classic 20/50. It has been suggested that I swap the oil pressure release spring as that is a cheap part but if that doesn't work I guess the next thing is to take off the timing cover and take a look.

    Low oil pressure and noise

I'm looking for a little advice. My v8 has always been a bit tappety when warm but recently it is sounding very loud and my oil pressure is down to 5psi when idle. A colleague at work suggested that the top of the engine is starved of oil hence the noise. I think the oil pump may be the problem...

    Project ARJ...Part 2

Started front passenger side door. 14mm of filler. Unbelievable. New door bottom and bottom skin for this one as well.

    Project ARJ...Part 2

Outer skin fitted, welded, filled and sanded. Needed a little filler to get things as flat as I wanted. Everything below the chrome strip is new steel.

    Project ARJ...Part 2

It's the change to the sills in my opinion that changes it. Loosing the jacking holes and spraying them body colour I think gives the car a much cleaner look. By the time all four doors are done it should start to make a big difference.

    Project ARJ...Part 2

Started on the back door. Cut the old skin off and replaced the rusty bottom of the door. Have already welded on new half skin but don't have pictures yet. A little filler to smooth things off and then on to the next. Hope to find the time to do all four over the winter.

    Project ARJ...Part 2

Been ages since I updated this thread so here goes. P5 Rostyles purchased. The chrome was finished and they were rusty so I blasted them to get rid of the crap and give them a key. Etch primed and then sprayed metallic silver with SD1 centre caps.

Where best in Scotland to get a respray?

I'm getting my p6 sprayed a few panels at a time by a local painter in Dundee. I bought enough paint to spray the whole car so everything is done from the same mix. I had the paint split down into 1 litre tins to make things easier. One way you can save money if you want a bare metal job is to...

    Hockey stick

I'm looking for advice on replacing the hockey sticks and drain channels above. I have replacement parts and I would guess that the hockey stick was originally attached with spot welds. Can I use plug welds from above to attach them or should I go down a different route? Thanks, Paul

    Rear wing seal

Hello all. I am looking for the aluminium metal bracket that is used to attach the rear wing seal between the back door and the wing. I have the drivers side so I just need the passenger one. I have new rubbers on order so it is just the metal I need. Thanks, Paul

    Project ARJ...Part 2

Doesn't bodywork take forever. I've manage to get two replacement rear wings and two brand new sills prepared in etch primer ready for the painter. Won't do any more bodywork to the car till after the SARR. Paul

    My 1968 S1 Rover P6B Three Thousand Five's Refreshtoration!

Re: Resistance is/was futile!! I think door mirrors would look best but when I was a kid in the 70's I remember thinking that mirrors on the wing were the coolest thing ever and door mirrors were just plain wrong. That goes for any car not just P6's. In saying that I also remember that I used...

    Poppy the P6

Stick at it. If you get another one Poppy will get left down the list again. I think that is why I am resisting getting another car.

    Project ARJ...Part 2

I'm starting to make some progress. New sill is test fitted to the car. Took a fair bit if adjusting and altering to get a good fit but I think it is looking much better. I've welded up the jacking holes as the rear jacking points as missing on ARJ so I don't see the point of keeping them. I...
