    Hiya Harvey, Yes box has a vacuum modulator,modulator holds 20" of vacuum,plenty of vacuum from engine oil level good selector mechanism adjusted correcty but still doesn,t change into top.Can a BW35 be substituted?

    Many thanks for that Harvey,the car in question is a Rambler Rebel SST and I went to look at it last night but I could not see any sort of cable from the carb to the gearbox so would the gearbox work if the cable is missing?

    I,m thinking of buying a car fitted with a BW37 which I believe is an uprated BW35 but there is a problem with the box in that it doesn,t change into top gear.Is this a common problem and could it be an easy fix?
